This collection was born from the idea of seeing butterflies as a sign at points in my life when I needed it, its powerful symbolism lifted me up when my faith in myself and my dreams wavered. A recurring message from the universe in the past year has been that I should continue to follow my dreams, assuring me that I am creating magic.

My intention with this collection is to bring some of that butterfly totem magic to your sacred space, your home!

The element of air inspire the colour scheme of this original mixed-media abstract, and the forms are a deconstruction of the Tree Nymph butterfly.

The element air represents movement, sincerity, joy and happiness. Air is associated with Heart Chakra and, in a balanced state, induces expansiveness, courage, compassion, and acceptance of self & others.

Medium: Khadi Papers India 320 gsm Artists’ handmade paper made from 100% long fibred cotton rag. Internally sized with neutral pH size. Tub-sized (surface sized) with gelatine. Acid-free. Smooth surface. Deckle edged.

Professional Artist Grade Archival Watercolour Paints from Daniel Smith and handmade paint maker Simone Michiels. Kuretake Sumi Ink and Dr. Ph. Martin’s India Ink. Graphite.

It is protected with Winsor & Newton Professional spray fixative and satin varnish.

 

The frame is not included, it is solely for you to visualize how the artwork will look framed in your home.
